A nursing home or facility provides 24-hour care and related services for residents who require medical or nursing care. Services include: nursing care and treatments; medication administration and supervision, assistance with personal care and activities of daily living, meals (including special diets), housekeeping, laundry, planned activities, and access to rehabilitation or restorative-related therapies. Costs, payment options, and amenities vary. Most offer on-site hair salon and worship services. Rates listed are by day unless designated as a monthly rate.
*Facilities stating they provide special care for individuals with Alzheimer's disease/dementia must adhere to Oklahoma's Alzheimer's Disease Special Care Disclosure Act. This law provides for the disclosure of information on special care provided to persons with Alzheimer's disease and related disorders at nursing and specialized nursing facilities, residential care homes, and assisted living centers licensed by the Oklahoma State Department of Health.
Nursing homes/facilities in Oklahoma are licensed under the Nursing Home Care Act, 63 O.S., Section 1-1901 et seq., and the Regulations for Licensure of Nursing and Specialized Facilities, OAC 310:675. State licensure is required. Medicare or Medicaid certification is optional.
